Job Description

Vicon is a world leading video and access control solutions provider in the enterprise commercial security market. Recent growth in the market has created the demand for a highly technical support person with an ability to work both independently and side-by-side with the sales team in supporting our customers. Specifically, this position will be mainly responsible for both pre-sales system design/review as well as post-sales training and technical support.

This role is an east-coast based position in which travel will be a significant requirement. The right candidate will possess both technical capabilities in video/access control & network environments combined with a "sales mentality" where supporting our customers in a friendly and understanding approach is essential.

Key functions and activities for this role include:

  • Build a deep understanding of Vicon's technical solutions in order to support key customers (both resellers and end-users) in their application of each solution.
    • Products include
      • Video management software
      • Network cameras and encoders
      • Servers and NVRs
      • Access Control hardware, software and readers
      • Network appliances
  • Develop strong working relationships with Vicon sales team in a supporting role
  • Travel with Vicon sales team to meet customers and support their presentations with a deeper technical knowledge.
  • Travel independently and visit with customers when needed
  • Maintain a technical understanding of existing and new product capabilities and become the "Go to" person for the eastern sales team.
  • Work closely and communicate with technical support team to maintain consistency in ticket activity and knowledge base.

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • 4 years' experience within the video security market in a technical role (technical support, field engineering, system design)
  • Strong network skill set with real-world hands-on experience configuring mutli-layer switches and troubleshooting network system problems.
  • Strong skill set working with Microsoft Windows environment and virtual servers.
  • Friendly and supportive attitude with an ability to communicate in oral and written forms.

Travel:

As this is a customer-facing position, travel within the states east of the Mississippi will be required on a regular basis. It is expected this will require at a minimum 60% travel.

Location:

This is a remote position so location somewhere on the east coast is preferred.
